Pakistani Government bars Govt. Officials to use social media without permission!

Government of Pakistan has instructed that government officials and employees cannot use any social media platforms including Facebook-Instagram without permission. The establishment department gave this direction in a circular issued to the central secretary and other officials. News ARY.

As per the rules, no government employee can speak on any media platform without permission from the government, the government agency's notification said. Government servants cannot also express opinions or statements on social media.

It has been directed that no government official can share any government documents or information with 'unauthorized persons'. A public servant cannot publish anything in support of his political ideology.

According to the directive, government employees are bound not to use 'inappropriate words' in civil service and 'they shall not be part of spreading unverified and misleading information on any government matter'.

In addition, Pakistani government employees cannot publish any opinion or information that may damage the reputation of the government in the media or social media.

It has also been warned that strict action will be taken against the violators of these instructions.
